Missing Malaysian tanker seen in Cambodian waters

Kuala Lumpur: An Australian aircraft has seen the missing Orkim Victory in Cambodian waters. The ship, hijacked last week off the southeast coast of Malaysia, was the second Orkim ship to be attacked by pirates recently.

Malaysian news agency Bernama, reported Malaysia’s Chief of Navy Admiral Abdul Aziz Jaafar as saying that the Orkim Harmony has been repainted and renamed.

Navios sells two VLCCs to its midstream sister company

Athens: NYSE-listed Navios Maritime Acquisition is to sell two VLCCs to Navios Maritime Midstream Partners for a combined $100m.

The vessels are the C Dream (298,570 dwt, built 2000) and Nave Celeste (298,717 dwt, built 2003). The transaction is expected to close on June 18.

Teekay LNG Partners orders two LNG carriers after BP deal

Athens: Teekay LNG Partners has ordered two firm 174,000-cbm LNG carriers plus one option from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries after signing a long-term timecharter deal with BP Shipping.

The vessels will be built to a fuel-efficient design and are expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2019.

Authorities investigate Bengbu Shenzhou fire which killed two workers

Shanghai: Local authorities have started investigations into a fire incident on Thursday at Bengbu Shenzhou Machinery which resulted in the death of two workers.

According to a survivor of incident, the workers were doing installation works inside the cabin of a tugboat when the fire broke out, and the situation became grave quickly due to the sealed structure of the tugboat.

Christodoulou will be replaced by the partnership’s current COO Jerry Kalogiratos. Christodoulou, formerly the deputy ceo of National Bank of Greece, was appointed as CEO and CFO in September 2014, after Ionnis Lazaridis stepped down from the position and later became non-executive chairman.
